ASH- July 2025

July's dragon of the month gives us a lesson in overcoming impossible obstacles. Ash is from the Songs of Chaos series by Michael R. Miller. When I read book 1, Ascendant, Ash and his human, Holt gave me so many feels.

What makes Ash so special, you may ask? Well, he is the very first Lunar dragon born in history, though none would have known about him. His egg was damaged and scentanced to be thrown into oblivion, but Holt, the brave son of a cook, stole the egg so he could save the dragon within.

Why was the dragon egg marked for death? Holt would find when Ash hatched that he is blind.

Dragons do not accept weakness. He was unwanted.

Ash however, was not going to let his defect control him. Together with Holt, he will learn to adapt and develop his skills to become a proper dragon, and even fly.

His love for his human, and life itself is an inspiration. He is a character that will make you appreciate what you have and learn from what you dont.
